Henrico Police regards crime prevention as one of the most valuable tools available to ensure the safety of residents, neighborhoods, and businesses. Our Community Policing Section, which is comprised of officers and civilians who have received extensive crime-prevention training, coordinates, educates and facilitates crime prevention across Henrico.

Community Presentations
Request an officer or crime prevention specialist to speak at or attend your next meeting or event. We offer a variety of topics and programs to choose from.

Community Safety Coalition
To facilitate the communication and collaboration between individuals and organizations in Henrico County (private, public and non-profit) and to identify and respond to community safety issues.

Crime Prevention and Safety Brochures
Read and print from a variety of brochures on important safety topics.

Crime Prevention (and other) Videos
The Henrico Police YouTube channel serves up a variety of videos on public-safety, crime-prevention, recruitment and more.

Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
Learn how the Division applies CPTED principles to new and existing development in Henrico County to increase safety and help prevent crime.

Crisis Intervention Team
Crisis Intervention Team is a community partnership bringing together first responders and area stakeholders for the common goals of safety, understanding, and caring for the needs of the mentally ill and their families.

Domestic Violence Assistance
Domestic violence is a pattern of behaviors used by one person in a relationship to control the other. Certain forms of abuse may be criminal such as domestic assault, sexual assault, or stalking. Please get help if you or someone you know is the victim of domestic violence.

Faith Community Coalition
The Faith Community Coalition is a crime prevention program designed for those mainly in the administrative level in Henrico’s faith community, but all are welcome.

Fuzz Buddy Program
Sometimes when officers respond to calls for service, they encounter a young child or children who may be frightened, alone, confused, and/or injured. These children need comforting, and often a new stuffed animal or cuddly “Fuzz Buddy” may help comfort the child or children until familiar family members arrive. 

Henrico Police Apartment Coalition
HPAC is a coalition comprised of Henrico County apartment community managers and the Henrico County Police Division. Membership is free and there are numerous benefits to becoming a HPAC member.

Henrico Police Athletic League
Support, join, or volunteer for this program that serves Henrico County youths in grades K-12.

Home or Business Security Audits
You may request a free Security Audit of your home or business to learn how to make it more secure and to prevent crime.

Operation Catalytic Converter Crackdown
Henrico Police has partnered with law enforcement agencies across Metro-Richmond to crackdown on catalytic converter thefts. This effort will allow community members to get their catalytic converters marked for free.

Public Safety Cadets Program
Prepares young adults, ages 14-20 for careers and leadership in the public safety profession.

Neighborhood Watch
Join Neighborhood Watch to become part of this citizen-police crime fighting partnership.

Senior Services
The Police Division offers several services and programs to seniors to help keep them safe from becoming targets of the latest crime or scam.

Victim/Witness Assistance Program
If you have been the victim of a crime or have witnessed a crime, your participation in the criminal justice process is important. The legal process, frequently long and complicated, often fails to address the unique needs of victims. However, our advocates are available to make sure that these needs are addressed.
