Garden City Connector Trail

The County of Henrico will be constructing a 12-foot-wide shared use path along the south side of Athens Avenue and Scott Road to Best Plaza Drive. This project will serve as a connection between the future Green City development and the Fall Line Trail. Improvements in addition to the trail include, but are not limited to: 

• Installing a crossing at the signalized intersection of Brook Road and Athens Avenue. 
• Construct a roundabout at the proposed development north of Scott Road.

Design is underway.  Right-of-way acquisition is anticipated to begin 2025  Utility relocation is anticipated to begin  2025  Advertisement for construction is anticipated in  2026  Construction is anticipated to begin 2026
