Creighton Road Improvements

Phase I

This project phase includes widening and realigning an approximately 0.4 mile section of Creighton Road between E. Laburnum Avenue and Sandy Lane to a four-lane divided roadway.  It includes curb-and-gutter, drainage improvements, sidewalk on both sides of the road, and realigning the intersection with Dabbs House Road to a point approximately 500 feet west of the current intersection.

Bridge Replacement

The existing bridge located between Caddie Lane and Stone Dale Drive will be replaced with a wider bridge that will be located to north of the existing structure.  The approaches to the bridge will also widened and shifted to the north.

Phase II

This phase of the project is currently on hold.  It will involve widening the remaining 1 mile section of Creighton Road between Sandy Lane and the Richmond corporate limits to a four-lane divided roadway with sidewalks, curb-and-gutter, and drainage improvements.

Estimated Schedule

  • Design – Complete
  • Right-of-way acquisition – August 2015
  • Utility relocation – September 2015
  • Construction – December 2015
  • Project completion – March 2017
