The Henrico County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is accepting registrations for the 2023 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp, which will be held from Aug. 7-11 at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center, near Williamsburg.

Open to youth ages 9 through 14, the residential camp provides a fun, safe environment to learn, make friends and discover the outdoors through such activities as swimming, archery, canoeing, basketball, volleyball, forestry, shooting education, campfires, crafts, marine science, skits and more.

The $345 cost to attend includes meals and lodging for five days and four nights as well as programs, class materials and a camp T-shirt. Transportation is not provided this year. Scholarship assistance may be available. Registration is accepted online, with a minimum initial payment of $100 due by April 10.

The Jamestown 4-H Educational Center offers woods and open spaces along the James River as well as amenities that include air-conditioned lodges and cabins, archery and rifle ranges, a swimming pool, a pier and an aquatics resource center.

Accredited by the American Camp Association, the camp is supervised by adult and teen counselors and a staff that includes lifeguards, recreational leaders, a dietician and a medical attendant.
