The free event, presented with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, will include a panel discussion from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and a resource fair from 1:30 to 4 p.m., offering information on peer support groups, medical providers and community support organizations. Complimentary refreshments will be available.

The Youth Empowerment Series (YES!) is being held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays from Sept. 13 through Oct. 18 at the Gayton Branch Library, 10600 Gayton Road. The free events offer opportunities to meet local transgender and queer community members and to learn about their journeys, careers and communities. Registration is not required.
