Capital Region Workforce Partnership sets drive-thru job, resource fairs for June

Additional slots available for employers to join events

Area job hunters can connect with a range of private and public employers at drive-thru job and information fairs in June.

Coordinated by the Capital Region Workforce Partnership, the Spring Back Employment and Resource Fairs are planned for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on:

Participants will receive information about employment resources and opportunities in the Richmond region and will be able to speak with employers with current vacancies. In addition, community agencies will be on hand to provide information about educational programs, workforce support services and summer resources and programs available for adults, young people and families. Care kits with COVID-19 safety and vaccination information will be distributed as well.

Slots are available for employers interested in attending one or both of the fairs. Tables, tents and other resources will be provided. Employers are encouraged to register and reserve a space.

Brian Davis, executive director of the Capital Region Workforce Partnership, noted that the job-search requirement for individuals receiving federal unemployment benefits was reinstated May 30. Extended benefits to support out-of-work individuals during the pandemic will be expiring in September, he added.

“This is a great time for employers who are hiring to connect with potential candidates,” Davis said. “It’s also a great time to make people throughout the Richmond region aware of the resources that are available to help them on their reemployment journey.”
