Henrico County Community Day set for Oct. 19 at Henrico High

Interactive event will feature information, giveaways, demonstrations, displays

Henrico County Community Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Henrico High School, 302 Azalea Ave.

The free event, organized by Henrico County and Henrico County Public Schools, will offer residents an opportunity to learn more about their local government and school system, and to interact with officials. Representatives of more than two dozen departments and agencies will attend.

Community Day also will feature giveaways, displays and equipment demonstrations as well as a kids zone, with inflatables, Police and Fire vehicles, Henrico County Public Library’s Mobile Library Service and Henrico County Public Schools’ Big Blue Bus. A deejay as well as high school marching bands, cheerleaders and dance teams will provide entertainment. Food trucks will offer concessions for purchase.

Parking for the event will be at Richmond Raceway, 5901 Richmond-Henrico Turnpike, in Lot H, Gate 12. A free shuttle service will carry guests to and from Henrico High School.
