Icy road conditions impacting trash, leaf pickup for some Henrico County customers

Some Henrico County refuse-collection customers scheduled for pickup today will have their trash collected Tuesday, according to the county’s Department of Public Utilities (DPU).

A delayed county opening due to icy road conditions Monday morning will prevent county crews from completing some routes by dark today. Unfinished routes will be completed first Tuesday morning before crews resume their regular pickup schedule. DPU does not anticipate additional impacts to its refuse-collection schedule this week.

The weekend’s winter storm also will affect Henrico’s free, bagged-leaf collection this week. The second pickup for Area B, which had been set to begin today, is now scheduled to start Monday, Jan. 21 and continue through Sunday, Jan. 27. Crews are finishing bagged-leaf pickups in Area D and Area A this week. A schedule and map of collection zones are available at henrico.us/services/bagged-leaf-collection.

Additional information is available from DPU at (804) 727-8770.
