Summary of Actions Taken by the Board on July 25, 2006
Mr. Glover led the Board, staff, and public in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Board approved the minutes of the July 11, 2006 Regular and Special Meetings.
RECOGNITION OF NEWS MEDIA
Mr. Glover recognized Olympia Meola of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
Ollie Harvey-Samaniego, a resident of the Fairfield District and founder of the H.O.P.E. Organization, requested financial assistance from the County for Sky’s Corner, a thrift store and youth alternative program affiliated with her organization. Her daughter, Lataisha Harvey, also addressed the Board on this matter.
Richard G. Gibbons, a resident of the Varina District, presented a letter and petitions on behalf of the Associated Residents of Historic Marion Hill expressing concern for the proper design of the proposed Ivy Hill subdivision at Greenview Drive and New Osborne Turnpike. Mr. Gibbons’ wife, Jean N. Gibbons, joined Mr. Gibbons in asking that the Board creatively apply the County’s zoning ordinance to ensure that the historic and natural features of the site, including the forest cover, are preserved.
Bobbi Baker, a resident of the Varina District, presented a letter and petitions on behalf of the Associated Residents of Marion Hill requesting that the Board create an elective historic overlay district to protect and preserve the historic resources of their community.
Introduction of Resolution for Receipt of Requests for Amendment to the FY 2006-07 Annual Fiscal Plan for August, 2006.
Resolution for Acceptance of Unsolicited Proposal for Conceptual-Stage Consideration for North Gayton Road Extension.
Introduction of Ordinance to Amend and Reordain Section 2-128 of the Code of the County of Henrico Titled “Assessment for funding of courthouse security” by Providing that the Fee Assessed May Only Be Used for Funding Courthouse Security Personnel and for Equipment and Other Personal Property Used in Connection with Courthouse Security.
Introduction of Ordinance to Amend and Reordain Sections 5-1 of the Code of the County of Henrico Entitled “Definitions” and 5-36 Entitled “Control of Dangerous or Vicious Dogs” and to Repeal Section 5-33 Entitled “Dogs Killing Domestic Animals Other Than Livestock or Poultry,” All Relating to Dangerous or Vicious Dogs.

“License tags generally,” Relating to Dog Licenses. Countyof Henrico Entitled
Resolution for Signatory Authority for Acquisition of Right-of-Way and Easement for John Rolfe Parkway Project from Earl M. Thompson and Mary Louise Thompson, located in the Tuckahoe District.
Resolution for Award of Contract for Automated Meter Reading System to American Meter Company (AMCO).
Resolution for Request for Letter of Necessity for Derbyshire Road and Mooreland Road Intersection Improvements. Project #2111.50701.28004.00971, located in the Tuckahoe District.
Resolution accepting Kirkwood Street, located in the Brookland District, and Pemberton Crossing, Section A, located in the Three Chopt District, into the County road system for maintenance.
