What is the Pulse?

GRTC Pulse is a modern, high quality, high capacity rapid transit system that serves a 7.6-mile route along Broad Street and Main Street, from Rockets Landing in the City of Richmond to Willow Lawn in Henrico County. GRTC Pulse is jointly sponsored by Bon Secours Richmond Health System and VCU Health System. Find a Pulse Station near you! 

ITDP Award 

The GRTC Pulse BRT was awarded with a Bronze Standard rating from the ITDP (Institute for Transportation & Development Policy). This Bronze Standard award recognized it for its “high-quality bus-based transit system that delivers fast, comfortable, and cost-effective services that replace less competitive local services”.

GRTC Transit Care System 

GRTC’s CARE provides curb-to-curb, shared-ride para transit services to residents of Henrico County with disabilities who may not be reasonably able to use GRTC fixed route bus service or legally operate a motor vehicle under the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 

CARE On-Demand An optional premium service available to CARE customers that offers same-day reservation, direct, non-stop trips anywhere within the CARE service area. In addition to qualified individuals with disabilities, both CARE and CARE On-Demand services are available  for any resident of Henrico County 80 years of age or older.  Find out more about specialty services by contacting GRTC’s eligibility coordinator at:  (804) 358-3871 extension 434 or at ridegrtc.com/services/specialized-transportation/care .

GRTC LINK MicrotransitLink GRTC

LINK is a zone-based on-demand microtransit service designed to fulfill the transportation needs of areas that might not support traditional fixed route service. Use the GRTC On the Go app to call for a ride between any two places within a designated zone. Once matched with an available LINK van, a GRTC Operator will pick you up at the point indicated in the request and drive you to the designated drop-off point. All LINK vehicles are wheelchair accessible.

AMTRAK 

Henrico County is home to the busiest Amtrak station in the Southeast. Over 346,000 passengers traveled through the station. The station has 587 parking spaces, is served by GRTC via the Route 18 Henrico Shuttle, taxi services and ride-sharing parking. Travel by Train!

Richmond International Airport 

Richmond International Airport (RIC) reported its fiscal year 2019 passenger traffic at 4,267,825, a new fiscal year record and an increase of 11.5 percent over the previous year. With airlines reporting 383,535 passengers for June 2019, RIC established a new June passenger traffic record, surpassing the old mark set a year ago (at the time, an all-time record) by 2.7 percent.
