Adolescent Services
Adolescent Services assist with youth from the ages of 14 through their 18th birthday or the end of 12th grade. HMDS relies upon the Recovery Model as we work with adolescents and their families. The recovery model is based on the concepts of strengths and empowerment of the people we serve. We believe that when individuals with mental illness and/or addiction have greater control and choice in their treatment, they will be able to take increased control and initiative in their lives.
Court Assessment & Treatment Services
Serving Court-Involved and High Risk Youth
The Court Assessment & Treatment Team provide mental health and substance abuse assessment and treatment services to youth involved with Henrico Court Services. This team works closely with our Juvenile Court liaison, who serves as a contact person for all youth and adults who have been court-ordered to Henrico Area Mental Health & Developmental Services.
Infant & Toddlers Services
Babies begin to learn and develop from the moment they are born. Some babies and children may need more help to learn than others. The Infant & Toddlers Services help children who are not developing as expected or who have a condition that can delay typical development. Some children need help in only one area of development such as speech or motor skills, while other children may have more general delays due to conditions such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or problems related to premature birth.
Youth & Family Services
The Youth and Family Services Program works with youth between the ages of 3 and 13 who are experiencing emotional and behavioral problems
