My Henrico Academy
Discover how county government works for you at the My Henrico Academy. This free, interactive, once a month program gives participants a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the many ways local government functions. The My Henrico Academy program, in partnership with the Asian and Latino Solidarity Alliance will be led by Henrico officials and staff and will focus on a variety of topics including:
- Federal, State, and Local Governance
- Finances
- Fire and Police
- Schools
- Roads and Utilities
- Development
- Exercising your rights
- Mental Health Services
The My Henrico Academy is open to any residents who are age 21 or older, Asian or Latino or of new immigrant decent, and live or work or play in Henrico County. Graduation from this program will allow participants to gain an understanding of Henrico County’s multitude of programs and services.
The program will be held on the first Wednesday, beginning June 5, 2019 through January 8, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Participants are expected to attend all classes to maximize their experience. Each class will be held at a different county facility and will feature presentations, discussions, facility tours, and equipment demonstrations.
