Fees
The permit fee for each ride is:
- Small mechanical or inflatable: $35
- Circular/flat ride less than 20 feet in height: $55
- Spectacular ride: $75
- Coasters over 30 feet in height: $200
- Large generator: $165
There is a 75% discount to the permit fee for use of a private inspector. There is a 50% surcharge added to the permit fee if inspection is requested to be performed on a weekend.
In addition to the permit fee, there is a 2% state levy. The total fee owed at the time of application is the permit fee plus the state levy (permit fee times .02).
How to Receive this Service
Online application is not available for amusement devices. Please mail or hand deliver the following documents along with the permit fee to the Department of Building Construction and Inspections:
Permit Application
1 copy of Amusement Device Permit Application
1 copy of insurance certificate
1 copy of current inspection certificate (kiddie rides only)
Permit Cancelation
1 copy of Request for Permit Cancelation
Note: You must enter a reason for the cancelation. If a refund is requested, you must add the request to the reason for cancelation. The refund rate is 100% if the permit has not been issued or 75% of the permit fee only if the permit has been issued.
