The County of Henrico participates in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) the HOME Investments Partnerships (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It has been the practice of the County to provide an opportunity each year for qualifying organizations to submit proposals for the use of these funds, consistent with the County’s Five-Year Consolidated Community Development Plan. The Community Development Division of the Henrico County Department of Community Revitalization administers these funds and facilitates the application process.
For the upcoming 2020-21 Program Year, Henrico County is no longer accepting proposals from qualified applicants seeking CDBG, HOME, or ESG funds for eligible activities. The next application period will be for the 2021-22 Program Year. The application will be available in mid-February 2021 with a submittal deadline anticipated for early March 2021.
Upon receipt of applications, proposals will be evaluated and recommendations for funding will provided to the County Board of Supervisors. Upon approval by the Board of Supervisors the County will submit its Action Plan to HUD by August 15, 2020, identifying programs to be funded.
