Hunton Park Boulevard Pedestrian and Bike Accommodations

Project Status: Underway - Design

Magisterial District:   Brookland

Henrico County has received requests for sidewalk along Hunton Park Boulevard.  When initially assessed, the evaluated cost to install the sidewalk was prohibitively high.   Henrico County has assessed an alternative project that would cost significantly less.  The proposed project could include bicycle/pedestrian accommodations such as the conversion of one travel lane in each direction on Hunton Park Boulevard to a buffered bicycle/pedestrian area, sidewalk along the south side of Hunton Park Boulevard, or a hybrid of the options.  The proposed changes would provide increased space, safety, and opportunities for pedestrians and bicyclists within the Hunton Park community.  A copy of the notification letter that was sent to property owners in advance of the August 16th, 2017 community meeting is available.
