Belmont Park Master Plan Process – Spring 2019

The Division of Recreation & Parks began a Master Plan Process by hosting three Community Input Meetings where residents had an opportunity to meet staff, learn about the master plan process, and provide input. The meetings included an open house format from 4:30-7:30 p.m. plus Q&A time with County leaders, beginning at 6 p.m. County leaders in attendance included a representative from the County Manager’s office, members of the Board of Supervisors, and the Director of Recreation & Parks.

Important Notes

  • This phase is an opportunity for community input on all potential public park uses for the park property, including golf and other active or passive recreational activities.
  • There are no plans or intentions for redevelopment of the Belmont property into residential or commercial use.
  • The Belmont property was purchased as a park by Henrico County and will remain park land and green space.
  • Belmont golf course is operating as usual throughout the community input process. The approved FY2020 budget includes full operational funding for Belmont through June 2020.
