Mr. Kaechele noted that the following news media representatives were present earlier in the meeting for the public hearing on the proposed annual fiscal plans: Lisa Crutchfield from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Mark Holmberg from WTVR-TV6, and Kerri O'Brien and Ashby Paca from WRIC-TV8.

PRESENTATIONS

Mr. Donati presented a proclamation recognizing April 12-18, 2009 as Library Week. Accepting the proclamation was Gail A. Atkins, Chairman and Varina District Representative, Henrico County Library Advisory Board. Joining her from the Advisory Board were Gregory M. Clay, Vice-Chairman and Three Chopt District Representative; and Gloria Logan Wilkerson, Recording Secretary, Friends Coordinating Board Representative, and Brookland District Representative.

 

Mrs. O'Bannon presented a proclamation recognizing April 19-25, 2009 as Administrative Professional Week and April 22, 2009 as Administrative Professionals Day. Accepting the proclamation was Katherine A. "Kay" McOsker, President of the Old Dominion Chapter of the International Association of Administration Professionals and Secretary for the Water Treatment Facility Division of the Henrico County Department of Public Utilities. Joining her was Cynthia D. Robinson, a member of the Chapter's Certification Committee and Secretary for the Henrico County Department of Public Works.

 

Mr. Kaechele presented a proclamation recognizing April 19 -25, 2009 as Volunteer Week. Accepting the proclamation was Katherine B. Roach, Assistant Director of Human Resources.  Joining her was George H. Cauble, Jr., Director of Human Resources.

Copeland Casati, a resident of the Three Chopt District, and George Lansing, a resident of Chesterfield County and creator and marketer of the Victory Egg Garden, requested an amendment to the County's zoning ordinance to allow residents to keep a limited number of laying hens in confined areas in residential districts. Also speaking in support of this request were Jennifer Anderson, Mark Lilly, Sheila Gray, and Kathleen Lansing.
