ReEstablish Richmond seeks interest in support group for volunteers

ReEstablish Richmond’s mission is to connect refugees and new immigrants to the resources they need to establish roots, build community and become self-sufficient. Since October, more than 650 newcomers have resettled in the greater Richmond area, with many partners contributing to the success.

“As an extension of the this mission, we want to also connect volunteers and faith communities to the resources they need to support newcomers,” Executive Director Kate Ayers said.

To efficiently provide support, ReEstablish Richmond wants to start a group for volunteers and groups supporting newly resettled families, especially from Afghanistan. The purpose of the group would be to provide a space for volunteers to ask questions, support one another and share resources and ideas.
