Absentee voting now underway

Voting by absentee ballot is underway for the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

In Virginia, all registered voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot. To vote absentee by mail, voters first must complete an application. Forms are available online

An application is not required for voting absentee in-person. Voters need only to bring a driver’s license or another acceptable form of identification.

Voting absentee in-person is available at the Henrico County Office of Voter Registration and Elections’ locations at the Henrico County Government Center, 4305 E. Parham Road, and the Eastern Government Center, 3820 Nine Mile Road.

Absentee ballots also may be returned in one of five drop boxes located throughout the county. In-person absentee voting also will be available at the Varina Area Library, 1875 New Market Road, beginning Monday, Oct. 24.

The period for absentee voting began Friday, Sept. 23 and continues through Saturday, Nov. 5, for in-person absentee voting. All requests for absentee ballot applications must be received by Friday, Oct. 28. A full schedule is online

Henrico’s Nov. 8 general election ballot includes candidates for the 1st Congressional District and the 4th Congressional District seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and four questions that comprise the county’s 2022 bond referendum.

More information is available from Voter Registration and Elections. The office can be reached at (804) 501-4347 or [email protected].
