The Richmond and Henrico Health Districts (RHHD) are working diligently to provide COVID-19 vaccinations. More than 13,000 people have received the vaccine at RHHD vaccination events and in hospitals and long-term care facilities.
RHHD is currently vaccinating Phase 1a. The Virginia Department of Health is prioritizing these first vaccinations for CDC-defined health care personnel and long-term care facility residents. Members of this group who have not been contacted can request a vaccination at http://vax.rchd.com/.
Vaccinations for Phase 1b are anticipated to begin in February. That group includes frontline essential workers such as firefighters, teachers and mail carriers. Residents aged 75 and older as well as people living in correctional facilities, homeless shelters and migrant labor camps are also eligible for the vaccine in Phase 1b.
