Tuckahoe meeting July 27 to highlight mental health services

Virtual session also will offer tips on preparing for hurricanes, tornadoes

Tuckahoe District Supervisor Patricia S. O’Bannon will host a virtual Tuckahoe Town Meeting on Monday, July 27 to explain mental health support services available in Henrico County and ways that residents can prepare for hurricanes and tornadoes.

The meeting will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on the Henrico County Government channel on YouTube.com.

O’Bannon will be joined by Nicki Moon and Daniel Rigsby, of Henrico Area Mental Health & Developmental Services, to discuss how the agency helps individuals cope with social isolation and other challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. With Police Lt. Cynthia Wood, Moon and Rigsby also will explain crisis intervention and how various agencies work in coordination to de-escalate the situation when an individual in the community is having a mental health crisis. Emergency Manager Jackson Baynard will offer tips on preparing for the upcoming hurricane and tornado seasons.
