Henrico County will present a free showing of the Oscar-nominated film “Heroin(e)” Wednesday, Sept. 19 to promote hope for those battling addiction.
Released in 2017, the Netflix-original documentary highlights three women — a fire chief, a judge and a street missionary — as they confront the opiate epidemic in Huntington, W.Va.
The film presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre, 305 E. Nine Mile Road. A fair of community service providers will start at 5:30 p.m. The event is organized by the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office, Henrico County Adult Drug Treatment Court and Henrico Area Mental Health & Developmental Services.
