Henrico to hold June 4 open house on Route 5 Corridor Study

The Henrico County Planning Department will hold an open house Monday, June 4 for residents and other members of the public to review and comment on revised and new information for a study of the Route 5 corridor.

The open house will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Varina Area Library, 1875 New Market Road. The meeting will provide an opportunity to review revised draft goals, objectives and strategies as well as new draft design guidelines for the corridor. Attendees may arrive at their convenience and share their thoughts directly with staff.

Copies of the revised draft goals, objectives and strategies and the draft design guidelines are available at henrico.us/projects/route-5-corridor-marion-hill-study. Community members are encouraged to review the documents prior to the open house.

The Marion Hill neighborhood has been removed from the Route 5 Corridor Study. Staff has determined that an independent study is appropriate and will be completed at a later date.

Once the community input phase is complete, the Route 5 Corridor Study will be presented to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors for review and approval. For more information, contact Rosemary Deemer at (804) 501-4488 or [email protected].
