Fans can take in the “last race to make the Chase” under the lights on Saturday, Sept. 12 when the green flag drops for the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

The big race will culminate three high-speed days at RIR. Other races include the Unoh 100 on Thursday, Sept. 10 and the Virginia529 College Savings 250 on Friday, Sept. 11. Check Richmond Raceway for details.

Henrico’s Department of Public Works will temporarily alter traffic patterns on roads around RIR to accommodate fans attending the races Sept. 11 and 12.

Motorists are advised to expect heavy traffic and delays in the area on both days, especially from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. before the races and from 10:15 p.m. to 1 a.m. afterward.

Henrico Police will provide information about altered traffic patterns in the area prior to the race.

Police officers will direct motorists before and after the races. Race fans and other drivers are encouraged to check traffic updates on message boards along interstates and other roads approaching RIR. Police also will post updates on its Twitter account, @henricopolice, and its Facebook page.
