Fairfield District Supervisor Frank J. Thornton will hold a constituent meeting Wednesday, Sept. 11 to discuss the state of Henrico County and the upcoming meals tax referendum.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 N. Laburnum Ave. County Manager John A. Vithoulkas and Thornton will lead the discussion, which will include a question-and-answer period.
As part of the general election ballot on Tuesday, Nov. 5, Henrico voters will be asked whether a 4 percent tax on prepared meals and beverages should be authorized in the county. All of the revenue generated by the tax would be used to boost funding for Henrico County Public Schools.
