Firehouse 6 / Eastover Gardens

Description

Firehouse 6, the Eastover Gardens Firehouse, opened at its present location in 1969. Originally founded as the Williamsburg Road Auxiliary Volunteer Fire Department and later renamed to the Eastover Gardens Volunteer Fire Department, the firehouse staffing and fire apparatus were eventually provided by the county, where it was designated “Station 16” to coincide with the sanitation district in which it served. Now known as Firehouse 6, it’s one of the busiest firehouses in the county, and home to Engine 6, Truck 6, and Fire Medic 6.
