Population Health Internship Opportunities

The Population Health Team at the Henrico County Health Department welcomes motivated interns to join our team! The Henrico County Health Department works with a wide range of community partners that focus on promoting and improving the health of residents in our community.  Our Population Health team works to understand the issues that impact health in Henrico and seeks better health through active participation of local residents and partners.  In addition, Population Health facilitates a Community Health Worker Volunteer Network to extend reach into our communities to improve health.

These are unpaid internships.  However, these positions provide an excellent opportunity to gain valuable job skills and experience in health education/public health, make a difference in communities, as well as to make important connections in the community. Good communication and writing skills are necessary, competent computer skills are required, and ideal candidates will be motivated and independent workers with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Internships are only for applicants currently enrolled in an academic program. If you are not enrolled in an academic program, but would like to volunteer please visit: https://henrico.us/health/population-health/volunteer-hchd/

Please note a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with your school is required to participate in an internship with us.  Many MOA’s are already in place.  If you are a chosen candidate and an MOA is not in place it will be required before you can participate.
