During World War I, there were hundreds of thousands of foreign-born soldiers serving in the U.S. military. Many of these men were not citizens of the United States, and could not speak or understand English. Yet, the combined with native-born American soldiers to become part of the effective fighting force known as the American Expeditionary Forces. Come listen to historian Al Barnes as he recounts the little-known story of America’s diverse military 100 years ago.
