Enjoy an afternoon of interactive living history demonstrations as you explore this mid-19th century farm – blacksmithing, wool dyeing, woodworking, cooking, gardening, and animal and house tours. Free!
In addition to regular activities, each Saturday will have a unique theme and we’ll explore what that particular subject was like in the 1860s – you’ll get to see for yourself how things were similar and how they were different. The themes for this summer are:

May 5 – Music 🎻
19th century songs on banjo, fiddle, and piano.

June 2 – Before Digital Cameras 📷
Antique camera exhibits – see them up close!

July 7 – Taking Care of Babies 🍼
Learn about 19th century medicine, and celebrate Emily Florence’s birthday, the 9th child of the Sheppard family.

Aug 4 – Wedding Traditions and Customs 👰
Wedding gowns, photos from Crump and Sheppard family weddings, and information about wedding customs in the 19th century.

Sept 1 – Herbal Wisdom 🌿
Explore the herbal garden with us and discover the uses in history of the various herbs. Our cooks will use herbs in the dishes that they’ll prepare on the open hearth.

Oct 6 – Shadows from the Past 👻
Mourning takes many different forms. Journey back in time and hear about the social customs and traditions surrounding death.

Hope to see you there!
