It’s time to prepare for the cold winter months and there’s much to be done! Find out how a 19th century farm family got ready: bringing in the crops, preserving foodstuffs, readying the animals, as well as the house.
Oct 26: Beyond the Grave
People of the 19th century were just as curious as modern society about life beyond the grave. Spiritualism as well as other ghostly topics will be explored. Hear the ghost stories that are associated with Meadow Farm and tour the family’s cemetery.

One hundred years ago, American society experienced a radical and momentous change – the 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote. Elizabeth Adam Crump of Meadow Farm would be one of the first women in Henrico County to cast a ballot. Join us to learn more about the long struggle to achieve women’s suffrage and how it impacted women in Henrico.
