Come out to Dorey Park and enjoy a full day of fun for the whole family with arts and crafts, live performances, and outdoor adventure! Here’s a brief rundown of what’s in store!
Dedication of the new connector trail through Dorey Park to the Virginia Capital Trail will be held at noon! Join us after the dedication for the opening of the Dorey Welcome Center, which will serve as a resource for Virginia Capital Trail users with area information and restroom facilities.
Bike Rodeo: Working in conjunction with Henrico Police-Community Policing Unit, children are encouraged to bring their bikes for the bicycle safety rodeo. It’s a great opportunity to learn bicycle safety tips and test their skills on our obstacle course! And speaking of bikes, keep your eyes open for a late 19th-century large wheel bike roving throughout the event.
BMX Stunt Show and Demonstration: Presented by BMX Pros, performances at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.
Singing and Dancing: Enjoy performances by Marna & Macy and the 64 Crayons Band and Evan McKeel, Richmond native, finalist on Season 9 of The Voice. Evan just released a new single, ‘Always.’ You also won’t want to miss Richmond Ballet Minds in Motion!
The Children’s Area will include Miss Sheri the Clown, face painting (provided by Pathfinders 4H Club) and backyard games such as cornhole, badminton, and washer toss. For a little more adventure, enjoy inflatables such as a 30 foot obstacle course, and a rock climbing wall!
History Comes Alive: For those interested in history, we will have agricultural displays, history villages depicting different areas of Henrico County, living history encampments, and a live battle reenactment!
