From: West Broad Street
To: Intersection of Church and Pump Roads

Project Description – What’s being done?
John Rolfe Parkway will be a four (4) lane, divided roadway with curb and gutter and sidewalks on both sides of the road from West Broad Street to just south of the existing Church-Pump Roads intersection.  This project will shift the existing intersection of Church and Pump Roads to the east to accommodate the new intersection with John Rolfe Parkway.  A portion of Pump Road just north of Church Road will be shifted to a new intersection with John Rolfe Parkway.  An overall project schematic and a schematic of the new Church Road, Pump, Road, John Rolfe Parkway intersections is provided in our Project at a Glance section.  Related improvements will made to adjacent streets as they approach their intersections with John Rolfe Parkway.  Traffic signals will be installed along the John Rolfe Parkway at its intersections with West Broad Street, Three Chopt Road, the relocated section of Pump Road north of Church Road, and Church Road.

Project Benefits ? Why are we doing this?
The John Rolfe Parkway was first identified in a study initiated in 1966.  The Henrico Board of Supervisors first included the John Rolfe Parkway within our Major Thoroughfare Plan in 1979.  As the far west end has developed, Henrico has reserved much of this corridor in anticipation of this project.  The John Rolfe Parkway will be a major component in improving the traffic flow in the far west end.

Project Updates – How do I keep informed?
Henrico has established an electronic notification system to assist citizens in staying informed of the John Rolfe Parkway construction progress.  If you subscribe, we will contact you, via email or text messages, with project updates and information on changing traffic conditions.  You may unsubscribe from the list at any time.
