From time to time, we are contacted by folks moving to Henrico from all over the country. Most of them have similar concerns, especially people with families and school age children. Our public schools here in Henrico are among the best in the nation and we invite you to learn all about them.

Parents of children who have special educational needs will find several private schools in the central Richmond region that offer these type of programs. There’s plenty to do in Henrico and our neighboring jurisdictions.
Henrico is one of only two counties in Virginia to own and operate its secondary road system. It is one of the few metropolitan areas in the United States to shorten commuting time. The average commute is about 21 minutes.
The climate in our metro area is classified as modified continental and there are four distinct seasons. Summers are warm and humid and winters generally mild.
