The Henrico County Neighborhood Watch program is a valuable crime fighting partnership between Henrico County citizens and the Henrico County Police Division. Neighborhood Watch helps to reduce the fear and incidence of crime, thus, making Henrico County a safer place to live, work, and play. It enlists the assistance of citizens as additional “eyes and ears” in each participating neighborhood to watch for any suspicious activity and immediately report all crime and suspicious activity to police.

Neighborhood Watch Benefits:

  • Reduces incidence of crime, fear of crime, distrust and suspicion between neighbors,fear and negative perception of police.
  • Increases property value, helps enforce community maintenance codes,reduces blight,heightens security,makes the community more desirable,and increases neighborhood pride.
  • Enhances quality of life Issues,reduces family and personal stress,increases crime prevention knowledge and awareness, provides a venue for community involvement, and provides a safer place to live, work, and play.
  • Supports the President’s Initiative for Homeland Security.
