The Grand Jury convenes once every two months to determine whether indictments should be certified as true bills and therefore tried in the Circuit Court. Docket call, where pending cases are set for trial, is also held every two months. Case delay reduction, the process of expeditiously bringing cases to trial or disposition, has been an on-going focus of the Court and Clerk’s Office. Strict docket control efforts have created a more streamlined docket which allows for earlier trial dates and greater access to the courts by the public.
