Gourd Crafting
Ages 18+. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet the minimum requirements. We’ve been growing gourds all summer so we can make fabulous gourd projects this fall! Dried gourds are perfect for decoration, bird houses for the garden, and more. Information: 343-3506

Mosaic Keepsake Box
Ages 18+. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet the minimum requirements. Make a beautiful keepsake box for your jewelry or other treasured items. Songbirds

Dance with Me

Looking to giggle with friends while boot scooting across the dance floor? We have the perfect class for you! Broadway Dance Class
Ages 16+. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet the minimum requirements. Learn fun techniques and a variety of broadway dance styles that help enhance your theatrical skills and help you have fun performing on stage. Participants must be independent in personal care needs, tolerate one hour of physically active exercises, follow staff direction and maintain appropriate social behavior. Information: 501-5138.

Fitness

Walking Club
All ages. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet the minimum requirements. Allow your friends to keep you on track with your walking and fitness progress. No matter what your fitness level, you will be glad you joined this fun, exciting group. Pedometers will be provided as well as fitness journals to track your progress during class. Walking outside in the beautiful park setting will be a great way to welcome cooler weather. Information: 501-5135.

Club Fit
Ages 12+. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet the minimum requirements. Music, movement, and fun will keep you rocking and rolling in this high energy, light aerobic fitness class. We will focus on cardiovascular, and muscular conditioning, as well as stretching. If you are looking for a FUN way to work out with friends, this class is for you! Frightfully Spooky Sensations
Ages 12+. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet the minimum requirements. Let your senses come to life in this unique Halloween experience. As the lights go down, individuals will be prompted to participate in five various stations designed to enhance their senses in some spooktacular fun! Walk through a fun holiday-themed maze, dance to hauntingly good music and make a tasty treat! Costumes are welcome! Information: 501-5135.

Weekday Sampler
Ages 18+. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet the minimum requirements. Looking for some new and exciting activities to brighten up your week? This group will focus on enhancing your leisure lifestyle! We will try a variety of activites to allow YOU the opportunity to judge for yourself what you want to do in your free time! Cooking, crafting, exercising and socialization are just some of the new activities you will explore. Information: 501-5135.

Bowling
Ages 12+. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet the minimum requirements. Come spend a Saturday morning with friends for some fun competition while also working on your bowling skills. What’s Cooking in the Kitchen
Ages 12+. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet the minimum requirements. Let’s get cooking in the kitchen! Each week, a different style of cooking will be introduced and participants will create their own meals and celebrate that culture. It’s a safe and fun way to cook on your own! A recipe box will be kept for each class and taken home at the end of the session. Information: 501-5135.

Special Olympics
Looking for some exciting sports to do this fall / winter? Henrico Recreation and Parks is proud to support Virginia Special Olympics. They offer Bocce, Volleyball, Golf, Soccer and Basketball. Minimum Eligibility Requirements: All programs have minimum eligibility requirements for participation. Minimum eligibility requirements may include, but are not limited to: age, prerequisite skills, safety, endurance, behavioral, personal care, and medical issues. For specific information on a program’s minimum eligibility requirements, please contact the staff person listed below each class or program.

Registration Notes:

  • Registration available now.
  • All those attending a program (that requires registration) must be listed on the registration form along with the required assumption of liability signatures.
  • Please register at least one week prior to the start date!

Dance Registration
Dance registration will be open to Henrico County residents EXCLUSIVELY for two weeks (10 business days). After the two-week period, remaining spaces will be available to anyone requesting them. Henrico County residents shall be defined as a person:

  • with a mailing address within Henrico County.
  • who resides in a group home located in Henrico County.
  • who resides in a group home outside Henrico County but can document a home address within Henrico County (parent’s or guardian’s home only).

Don’t Forget!

  • Registration is first-come, first-served.
  • Registration is required in advance.
  • Payment will not be accepted at the door.
  • Each participant’s name and address must be provided at the time of registration.
  • Each participant (or guardian if applicable) must sign the liability waiver on the registration form.
  • Participants must meet minimum eligibility requirements.

Instructors: Unless listed otherwise, programs are taught by Recreation Staff. All fitness, dance, and sports programs are taught by instructors who are nationally certified in their area(s) of expertise.
