Description

Available to rent, the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center is a beautiful 25,773 square foot building with a variety of programming spaces and rooms. You will find a spacious ballroom for private events, a full-sized gymnasium, a classroom, and a fitness area for staying in shape through group exercise classes or individual workouts.

Access to the Fitness Center is available to Henrico Residents (16+) who register at the recreation center. Participants begin with a two-week trial and if they choose to continue, a yearly fee is applied to the account. Those with access passes to the fitness center also receive unlimited participation in age-appropriate fitness classes offered at EHRC for no additional charge. Generation Z

Ages 6-12. Drop your kids off for an evening of fun. Parents or legal guardians must sign a liability waiver provided on site at the time of drop off. Space is limited to the first 50 children.

Hunger Games! Fri, Dec 12, 6-8pm
EHRC is hosting an evening of fun activities, all with a “Hunger Games” theme. Archery demos, archery practice, crafts, and games will all be included.

Crafting Like Crazy!
Mon, Feb 2-Apr 6, 6-8pm
Ages 8-17. We’re crafting like crazy on the first Monday of each month! Tap into your creative side while your parents or siblings work out - we’ll provide the tools and materials! Try your hand at paper crafts in February, watercolors in March, and great graphic art in April. Information: nes@henrico.us

Let It Snow! Fri, Feb 20, 6-8pm
Jack Frost will be working his magic at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center! Indoor snowball fights, winter-themed crafts, and other snow-themed activities will keep kids busy and feeling cool.

Game Show Night! Fri, Apr 10, 6-8pm
Test your skills in “Minute to Win It” style games, challenge your friends to Jeopardy on the Wii, or test your endurance in challenges like those on “Survivor.” With all of the fun games taking place, you will definitely leave feeling like a winner!

Foot Tennis

Ages 12-13. The rapidly growing sport of foot tennis originated in Europe and is a game played indoors and outdoors. Try to score a point by hitting the ball with any part of your body... except your hands! Registration required. Information: gri10@henrico.us

Foot Golf Clinic

All-Star Game Day

If you love sports, games, contests, and challenges, this event is for you! Challenge your abilities on one of the giant inflatables, play life-size games, or compete to see if you have the athletic ability of a champion. The event will also feature a variety of fitness and sports demonstrations, along with several special guests. Concessions will be available for purchase. Information: mur12@henrico.us

Facility Reservations

The facility has numerous rooms available for rent:

  • Strawberry Hill Ballroom: 125 (maximum capacity)
  • Glen Echo Gymnasium: 150 (maximum capacity)
  • Randolph Classroom: 40 (maximum capacity)

The site also includes a full-size caterer’s kitchen and a patio.
The parking lot has the capacity for 276 vehicles.
