Deep Bottom Park & Four Mile Creek
Ride your boat, pier fish, or picnic on the James River. Deep Bottom Park features two boat ramps for access to the James River and a canoe launch on Four Mile Creek. Picnic facilities and fishing are also available at this site. The boat ramps are available twenty-four hours a day to launch and retrieve boats. The park grounds are open from dawn to dusk. Tour of New Market Heights Sat, Sep 24, 10-11:30am All ages. Fourteen African-American soldiers received the Medal of Honor for their heroism in combat at New Market Heights. During the course of the Civil War, only 18 Medals of Honor were earned by black infantry soldiers. Come see the place where it happened and learn about how the
battle unfolded near the 152nd anniversary of the battle. Parking will be located at the Four Mile Creek parking lot. Tour will include walking over uneven terrain. Information: email@example.com
