Summary of Actions Taken by the Board on March 13, 2007

 

Mr. Donati led the Board, staff, and public in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Dr. Kirkland R. Walton, Pastor, St. Peter Baptist Church, provided the invocation.

 

The Board approved the minutes of the February 27, 2007 Regular and Special Meetings.

 

MANAGER’S COMMENTS

A delegation of 17 persons from the City of Yangju, South Korea will be visiting Henrico County this month as the first step towards a possible Sister City relationship.  Henrico became known to Yangju officials some years ago through the County’s international economic development efforts.  Yangju and its provincial government, Gyeonggi, helped the County establish contacts with Korean businesses. 

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ COMMENTS

Mr. Donati noted that Highland Springs High School won the Group AAA boys basketball state championship on March 10, 2007.  He announced that Coach George Lancaster and the team will be recognized at the next Board of Supervisors meeting on March 27, 2007.

RECOGNITION OF NEWS MEDIA

Mr. Donati recognized Will Jones of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
