Summary of Actions Taken by the Board on January 23, 2007

 

The invocation was given by Rev. Vergel Maness, Pastor, Glen Allen Free Will Baptist Church.

 

The minutes of the January 9, 2007 Regular Meeting were approved.

 

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ COMMENTS

Mrs. O’Bannon announced that the cover story for the January 29, 2007 issue of U.S. New and World Report is titled the “Birth of America,” which profiles the Jamestown settlement.  The issue also includes an article on Pocahontas and references to the Citie of Henricus. 

 

Mr. Donati recognized the following Boy Scouts from Troop 766, sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Gayton Ward, who were observing the meeting to fulfill rank advancement or merit badge requirements:  Mitchell Aldridge, Bo Bleyl, Chase Bleyl, Brian Goodhue, Jay Hayden, Allen Leon, Jeremy Moore, Matthew Nester, Ethan Overbaugh, Franco Ramirez, and Josh Warriner.  They were joined by Scoutmaster Erik Bleyl.  Mr. Donati also recognized Jose Aquirre and Victor Aquirre from Boy Scout Troop 737, sponsored by St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Eric Benson of Troop 400, sponsored by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church,  who were observing the meeting to fulfill merit badge requirements.

Mr. Donati recognized Will Jones of the Richmond Times-Dispatch and Tom Lappas of the Henrico Citizen.
