The organization presented the award, its highest national honor, at its national meeting in Houston, Texas on March 6, 2006.  Mr. Hazelett accepted the award on behalf of the County and its employees and was joined by David Ambrogi of the Division of Recreation and Parks, who coordinates the volunteer activities of HCBP.  Virginia Blood Services, a member of America’s Blood Centers, nominated HCBP for this award. During the Board meeting, Mr. Ambrogi introduced Virginia Blood Services’ representative for Henrico County, Jenny Madden, and the following HCBP Committee members who were present:  Bert Childress, County Manager’s Office; Lisa Orlosky, Department of Information Technology; and Priscilla Parker, Department of Planning.
