Summary of Actions Taken by the Board on January 11, 2005

Dr. J. Rayfield Vines, Jr., Pastor, Hungary Road Baptist Church, provided the invocation.

The minutes of the December 14, 2004 Regular and Special Meetings were approved.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ COMMENTS

Mrs. O’Bannon recognized Brett Corsello from Boy Scout Troop 747, sponsored by Gayton Baptist Church, who was observing the meeting to fulfill a requirement for the Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge.

Mr. Kaechele noted that Richmond International Airport was experiencing a trend toward lower fares. He also announced that the Capital Region Airport Commission, currently chaired by Mr. Donati, would be opening bids on January 18, 2005 for the construction of a new terminal.

Mr. Thornton recognized Nelson Wikstrom, author of County Manager Government in Henrico, Virginia, who was present to receive the oath of office for appointment to the County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee. Mr. Thornton also recognized his wife of 37 years, Bettye Thornton, who was in the audience observing the meeting.
