Mrs. O’Bannon led the Board, staff, and public in reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Rev. Miguel M. Acosta, Pastor, Victory Baptist Church, provided the

The Board approved the minutes of the July 27, 2004 Regular and Special Meetings.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Tong Wang, a resident of the Tuckahoe District, asked the Board to consider issuing a proclamation recognizing September 19 – 25, 2004 as Falun Dafa Week.
Curtis
Cornell, a resident of the Brookland District, reiterated his dismay regarding
the County’s enforcement of the Building Code, which resulted in the demolition
of a house on his property last year.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS’ COMMENTS
Mr. Donati
recognized the following Boy Scouts from Troop 501, sponsored by Laurel Hill
United Methodist Church and Varina Episcopal Church, who were observing the
meeting to fulfill requirements for their Communications Merit Badges: William Christopher, Nelson Humphrey, Andrew
Props, and Gordon Schmick. Also present
were Roy Props, Assistant Scout Master and Cub Master, and Jonathan Schmick, a
member of the Troop Committee.
Mrs.
O’Bannon recognized a group of Mass Communications students from Virginia
Commonwealth University, who were on assignment for their news writing
class. The following students were in
attendance: Matt Belt, Mary Daniels,
Terry Downs, Joseph Gavin, Alex Glickman, Emma Hacker, Alicia Jones, Christy
