Henrico County has opened emergency shelters for Hurricane Irene at Elko Middle School, 5901 Elko Road; and Rolfe Middle School, 6901 Messer Road. Pets are welcome at both shelters. Residents and others with questions about Hurricane Irene are encouraged to call Henrico’s Hurricane Hotline at (804) 501-7413. Call 911 for emergency life safety issues. CVWMA unveiled plans for the “Just Start Recycling” campaign at the TFC Recycling Facility. The campaign will include a region-wide education effort featuring a new marketing campaign created by Curbside Value Partnership displayed on recycling truck signs, commuter buses and TV ads, direct homeowner outreach and a new web page dedicated to the campaign, www.JustStartRecycling.org.
