The Sheriff’s Office was acknowledged for their addiction programs and detox sessions that are housed in the jail. An individual’s family member was arrested a week ago for addiction. The individual noted the programs give opportunities to inmates for recovery, while respecting their dignity and allowing Sheriff’s deputies to gain a sense of fulfillment for helping others during a difficult time.
Cheryl Dent, a Henrico employee in the Department of Finance, acknowledged the Police Division Traffic Officers on Motorcycle Patrol. She noted their level of professionalism and compassion during two funeral processions. The officers maintained traffic flow for the funeral attendees. Cheryl stated that this made her proud to be a Henrico resident as well as an employee.
A resident of the City of Richmond sent his sincere gratitude to Sergeant Clifford Middlebrook. The resident lost his wallet while attending the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. Sergeant Middlebrook located the wallet and personally returned it to the resident’s home. The resident was impressed that Sergeant Middlebrook took the extra effort to make sure the wallet was returned directly to him.
A volunteer from the Achievable Dream Academy acknowledged Lieutenant Dieter Merz in the Police Division for his teamwork and hospitality during the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. Lieutenant Merz made the experience wonderful for the students and kept everything moving. He ensured the field trip was a success.
Travis Sparrow, Network Manager for the Department of Information Technology, participated in a national cyber security skills competition in July. Travis finished in the top 3% nationally out of 4,000 participants. He received a scholarship into a full cyber security program hosted by the SANS Institute. Great Job Travis…
Jen Cobb, Engineering & Environmental Services Division Director, submitted a generous email to recognize Steve Bandura, Plan Reviewer for the Department of Public Works. Steve is a 30+ year Henrico veteran and has done an exceptional job spearheading high priority plan reviews such as Facebook and the county’s new communication towers. He takes the time to walk other staff, developers, and engineers through critical parts of the plan review process, in order to grant approval as quickly as possible within the constraints of regulations.
