Tuckahoe District Supervisor Patricia S. O’Bannon has been appointed to serve an additional two-year term on the board of directors of the Virginia Association of Counties (VACo).
O’Bannon, who also is serving as chairman of the Henrico Board of Supervisors in 2014, was reappointed to represent VACo’s Region 3 during the association’s annual conference Nov. 9-11. O’Bannon, one of three representatives for Region 3, has served on the VACo board since 2008.
VACo’s board consists of a six-member executive committee, 24 elected officials representing 13 regions of the state and three past presidents. The number of directors in each region is based on population. The VACo board is responsible for supervising, controlling and directing the affairs of the association, its committees and its publications.
