Admission and Discharge

All admissions to the Detention Home are subject to approval of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Admissions are authorized by a signed court order, detention order, or warrant.
A child who alleged to have committed an act, which would be a felony or class 1 misdemeanor or meets other conditions of the code (16.1-248) of Virginia, maybe detained for that offense.
All discharges are subject to the approval of the Juvenile Court Judges and are authorized by a court order. At times a Judge of the detaining court will set bond for a child. If the child’s parents meet the requirements of the bond, then that child can be released to them.
