Board of Supervisors
The Board of Supervisors has five members, one representing each of the County’s five magisterial districts: Brookland, Fairfield, Three Chopt, Tuckahoe and Varina. Supervisors are elected for four-year terms. The Board is the policy-making body of the County.
Building Inspections
Makes certain all buildings and structures meet construction standards.
Circuit Court Clerk
The Clerk’s Office assists the Circuit Court Judges in the execution of their judicial duties by preparing, recording, and maintaining court orders, subpoenas, and pleadings.
Circuit Court Judges
The Circuit Court has authority to try a full range of cases, both civil and criminal, jury and non-jury.
Commonwealth’s Attorney
Represents the people of the Commonwealth in the court system in matters involving civil, criminal and juvenile activity.
Community Corrections Program
Provides opportunity for nonviolent offenders to make restitution to the community and to victims.
Community Revitalization
Coordinates the Enterprise Zone, Federal Block Grant and Community Maintenance Code Enforcement programs to revitalize the County.
County Attorney
Serves as legal advisor to Henrico Government.

Provides services in zoning, building construction, water, sewer, road and drainage.

(County) Extension Agent
Provides education, programs, and services on a variety of topics related to agriculture, lawn and garden, home economics and money management, and 4-H youth activities.
Provides services in the area of accounting, budgeting, business licensing, personal property and real estate assessment, and state income tax preparation and tax collection.

Provides fire prevention, education, suppression, emergency medical, and emergency preparedness services.

General Services
Provides a variety of services to all departments and agencies.
The local health department is a collaboration between the state health department (VDH) and local government for the purpose of ensuring that mandated public health services are available locally. All services provided are focused on protecting the health and well-being of local citizens. Services include disease investigation and control, food service inspections and permitting, access to vital records, focused clinical services such as the provision of childhood immunizations, family planning and prenatal care, among many others.
Henricopolis Soil and Water Conservation District
Provides education, programs, and services related to water quality and natural resource conservation.
Human Resources
Provides professional personnel services incorporating all aspects of equal employment opportunities and sound merit principles.
Internal Audit
Reviews and appraises the soundness, adequacy, and application of internal accounting, financial, and other operating controls.

Provides counseling, service planning, and supervision to detained youths.
Provides library services to area residents.

Permit Center
The Permit Center has been designed to enhance our customer service to you by providing services at one central location. Also, any different kinds of maps are available for you to view and print.
The Planning Department advises and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, and Board of Zoning Appeals on land use applications such as rezonings, provisional use permits, conditional use permits and variances and reviews all new development (subdivision, plans of development and administrative site plans) to ensure compliance with the county’s zoning and subdivision ordinances. The department maintains the county’s Comprehensive Plan, demographic reports, and conducts special studies.

Provides protective services to Henrico citizens.

Public Relations & Media Services
Directs the county’s communications program and increases awareness and understanding of government activities and policies to corporate and private residents, civic organizations, the media, county officials, employees, and other jurisdictions throughout the Commonwealth and the nation. The department also oversees operations of HCTV, Henrico County Television. The station offers an assortment of useful information to our residents including original programs, news and information.
Public Utilities
Provides services in the areas of waste management, refuse collection, recycling, litter control, street lighting, water distribution, and sewage collection and treatment.
Public Works
Constructs and maintains Henrico’s roads and drainage systems. Provides services in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
Real Property
Offers services in the acquisition, sale, and lease of all real property used by the County.
Recreation and Parks
Offers programs and activities to meet a variety of interests for all ages, including residents with special needs. The Division is also charged with the development, construction, and maintenance of all recreation facilities and sites.

Voter Registration and Elections
