The Henrico Citizens’ Fire Academy began in 2000 as a public education program for the citizens in Henrico County.  Highlights of the Academy include learning about our Emergency Management, Community Risk Reduction, Fire Marshal offices, wearing turnout gear and using thermal imaging cameras while learning about different aspects of your local fire department.

Past Henrico Citizens’ Fire Academy participants have included firefighter wives, parents, and siblings, County employees, citizens interested in their local fire department, volunteering and media reporters.

Henrico County Division of Fire is working to improve our Citizens Fire Academy program.  Thus, our next Citizens Fire Academy will be held in the Fall of 2014.
